VeriSIM Life Named Most Innovative Company Finalist in Stevie® Awards for Women in Business

San Francisco, CA – September 23, 2024 – VeriSIM Life was named a finalist in the Most Innovative Company of the Year category in the 21st annual Stevie® Awards for Women in Business. The Stevie Awards for Women in Business honor women executives, entrepreneurs, employees and the companies they run, worldwide. VeriSIM Life was founded in 2017 by Dr. Jo Varshney. The Stevie Awards have been hailed as the world’s premier business awards.

More than 1,500 entries from organizations and individuals in 36 nations and territories were submitted this year for consideration in more than 100 categories. Finalists were determined by the average scores of more than 200 business professional judges around the world, working on six juries. Their scores will also determine the Gold, Silver, and Bronze Stevie Award placements that will be revealed in November.

VeriSIM Life earned Most Innovative Company of the Year recognition for its work in addressing the decades-old “translational gap” challenge, which results in new drug candidates failing in clinical trials 95% of the time. This incredibly high failure rate results in billions of dollars of wasted research, driving up the cost of the drugs that do ultimately get approved for patient treatment. VeriSIM Life combats this issue with an innovative blend of artificial intelligence and biosimulation technology that directs scientists and researchers where to focus their experimentation and investment, resulting in much faster and less expensive drug development. The company’s platform, BIOiSIM, is the only solution of its type to address the full preclinical lifecycle of a drug asset – from discovery, through development and into clinical trials. Unlike AI-native drug developers that focus on chemical discovery, VeriSIM Life incorporates AI techniques with biosimulation to bring biological relevance to drug discovery as well as downstream R&D.

“We are excited and honored to be selected as a Stevie Awards winner in the category of Most Innovative Company of the Year, and congratulate all of the other companies nominated as well. It is a humbling reflection of our team’s commitment to our mission. To a person, we are deeply convicted to use technology to make a meaningful difference for patients in need awaiting live-saving therapeutics,” says Dr. Varshney, VeriSIM Life Founder & CEO.

“In its 21st year, the Stevie Awards for Women in Business received an impressive collection of remarkable nominations,” said Maggie Miller, president of the Stevie Awards.  “We look forward to recognizing the outstanding achievements of women in the workplace in New York on November 8.”

About VeriSIM Life

VeriSIM Life has developed a sophisticated computational platform that leverages advanced AI and ML techniques to improve drug discovery and development by significantly reducing the time and money it takes to bring a drug to market. BIOiSIM® is a first-in-class 'virtual drug development engine' that offers unprecedented value for the drug development industry by narrowing down the number of drug compounds that offer anticipated value for the treatment or cure of specific illnesses or diseases. The platform predicts the likelihood of a candidate's success in clinical trials early in the preclinical stage, while reducing unnecessary experimentation and better informing key program decisions.
